This week's blog post is short and sweet, but just as crucial as our others! It’s almost spring time which means summer is right around the corner! With that being said, it’s time to start planning that much needed summer vacation. While summer is the most popular time to travel, it’s also the most expensive. That’s why it’s super important to get ahead of those jacked up prices. Late February/early March are the best times to plan for those summer getaways. I booked all my summer trips last week and I have no regrets. It might be a tough (financial) pill to swallow to book a few trips at once, but I promise you’ll be thankful in the long run!
First, get yourself organized and decide on destinations and dates. Luckily, it’s easier to be more flexible in the summertime, so I suggest playing around with some dates until you get the best price. You’ll probably find that early June and August will have the best deals. Unfortunately, July is always fairly expensive no matter the destination. Once you’ve found a decent flight price, BOOK IT! You can deal with where you’re staying at a later time since those prices won’t fluctuate much.
Once your flights are booked you’ll feel relieved and even better- excited! This time of year can feel like a drag and it really helps to have a fun trip to look forward to. You’ll also be able to give yourself a few months to save some cash for when your trip comes. For the past several years, I’ve booked an overseas vacation for the summer at this time of year. This year I’ve decided to switch things up and hit three different cities within the U.S. I am just as excited about these trips and can’t wait to share them with you all!
